Chairperson Role

  • Attend all official WGII meetings.
  • Establish a clear role definition in conjunction with the National Executive Committee
  • Maintain a portfolio for the role so that the job can be easily transferred to the next holder of the role
  • Convene and chair all WGII National Executive meetings
  • Ensure that the Constitution and Code of Ethics of WGII are duly published and implemented
  • Ensure that all WGII policy documents are duly published and implemented
  • Ensure that all duties arising out of our Limited Company status are fulfilled
  • Establish the role of each committee member in consultation with each and the committee
  • Provide a printed document defining each agreed role to all committee members as soon as possible after the first meeting
  • Reserve the venue for WGII committee meetings
  • Prepare the agenda for WGII committee meetings
  • Send names of committee and calendar of meetings for the year to all members of committee prior to the November meeting
  • Facilitate a review of th calendar at the November meeting, where necessary
  • Ensure that events listed in the calendar are duly implemented
  • Clarify roles of committee members and maintain policy documents
  • Oversee election of the Treasurer and Secretary, and facilitate allocation of other roles at first meeting of new committee
  • Chair the AGM and give an annual report.
  • Oversee execution of the decisions of the National Executive on all matters pertaining to WGII and have an overall view of all the business of WGII
  • The chairperson will be an ex-officio member of all sub-committees
  • Liaise with the Director of WGII
