Dr. Glasser’s first presentation in Ireland.
This took place in the Teachers’ Centre, Drumcondra, Dublin on 1st June 1985. Cork man Sean O’Dwyer, living in the USA, had come across Dr. Glasser’s Reality Therapy and thought it would be good in Ireland. After approaching several different bodies that showed no interest, Sean contacted the Institute of Guidance Counsellors. Then President of the IGC, Arthur Dunne, took up the invitation and so Glasser came to present his ideas in Drumcondra. Brendan Hester arranged to have a video cameraman there on the day and the morning presentation was recorded for posterity.
In the following days, Dr. Glasser gave a Basic Intensive Week in Reality Therapy to the nine people who signed on for it at the time.
