A Basic RT/CT Course was held onlne for guidance counsellors from Wexford, Waterford and Kildare the 7th to the 24th November 2020. Sixteen brave souls ventured into the world of Choice Theory and Reality Therapy guided by instructor Brian Lennon.
The course was organised by Joe Casey and was intially planned for the spring-time but the pandemic intervened and so everything shifted into an online world. We had our course sessions on Zoom and course materials were delivered via our very own Moodle site.
In spite of the talking-to-moving-photographs aspect of the course, the interaction between group members was wonderful and the discussions were probing as you might expect from guidance counsellors.
Sessions had been organised as three Saturdays of six hours each plus three hours on the following Tuesdays. The remaining three hours of required course time was taken up in preparing group projects. These reached a standard worthy of seasoned certification candidates.
Congratulations to all sixteen on completing Basic training at a time when their daily work as guidance counsellors has been complicated so much by the pandemic.
