A Choice Theory Psychology Guide to Happiness

9.00

This book is about how to make yourself happy. The meaning of happiness is uniquely examined from a Choice Theory perspective. Defining happiness is a somewhat difficult task because no two people experience it the same way. In this book, the author shares the personal stories of twenty, very different people, who have written about what happiness means to them and why they are happy.

The author explains how different aspects of Dr.William Glasser’s Choice Theory are demonstrated in every story. This reflection is followed by a Choice Theory Take Away where the author gives the readers information about how to immediately use these Choice Theory ideas in their own lives.

In the Preface of the book, the basics of Choice Theory are briefly explained as a reference point. But the stories clarify the ideas and help the reader more fully understand Choice Theory and how to use it to make themselves happy.

Carleen Glasser is the wife of the late William Glasser, M.D. She became a school counsellor in 1983 and has been a William Glasser Institute Instructor, teaching Dr. Glasser’s ideas since 1989. When she and William married in 1995, she joined him as his partner in teaching the Choice Theory and Reality Therapy that he had developed. They did presentation seminars on these ideas all over the world. In the twenty years they were together, Dr. Glasser wrote eleven more books and Carleen edited all of them, including the four books she co-authored with him.

Carleen has also written her own books and materials to teach Choice Theory to children. All of her and Dr. Glasser’s books and media can be seen on and purchased from their website: www.wglasserbooks.com

Carleen Glasser is continuing Dr. Glasser’s work by writing, teaching and consulting in an effort to promote his ideas and preserve his legacy. She lives in Los Angeles, California. She can be reached at wglasserinc@gmail.com
