On the cover Dr. Glasser writes, “We are mistaken if we believe that discipline, dropouts and drugs are what is wrong with today’s schools. Serious as these are, they are symptoms of a much larger underlying problem which is that far too any capable students make little or no effort to learn.” This is very much a book about student motivation and Dr. Glasser outlines what educators can do to help students learn.

NOTE:  Although “Control Theory” is mentioned in the title, Dr. Glasser later changed the name of his personal version of “Control Theory” to “Choice Theory”.   This book is about Choice Theory in the Classroom.
